The best restaurant I’ve been to in Portland as far as food, service, and vibe. The food and atmosphere for the price point is beyond a steal. They serve food on actual plates and don’t go crazy. Its rustic presentation made me feel like I should see French countryside out of the window. The flavors were amazing and everything cooked perfectly, wonderfully crispy pork belly and duck with tender and flavorful sausage in the cassoulet paired with a mustard that made me melt into my seat. Felt like the scene in ratatouille when the critic eats the ratatouille. Almost dropped my fork in ecstasy. I thank you for a wonderful night and the genuine care and honing of your craft. If Michelin ever comes out to Portland they deserve a star. Will be coming back when I want to impress people with the Portland food scene.

Great French restaurant. Escargot was excellent. Filet de boeuf was perfectly cooked and extremely flavorful. Desserts were graciously proportioned and hit the spot. Nice selection of wines at a fair price. Service was friendly and warm and not at all pretentious or overbearing. I look forward to returning.

Bergerac is a true gem for French cuisine lovers! Their mushroom dinners are absolutely spectacular - rich, flavorful, and perfectly executed every time. One of the things that really impressed me was how quickly and seamlessly they adapted during the pandemic. Their to-go packaging was incredibly well thought out, ensuring that every dish arrived at home just as delicious as if I were dining in the restaurant. It’s rare to find a place where the at-home experience matches the dine-in quality, but Bergerac nailed it. Whether you're dining in or taking out, you’re in for an exceptional meal. Highly recommend!

We started with the escargot, which was well done. We had the castle and the fillet. The castle was a different take on the classic castle with much the same ingredients, but presented in a different way. I really liked the Dijon mustard with the castle, which added a Subtle richness to the dish. The play was done perfectly. Service service was outstanding. This is definitely going to be a must go to place whenever we are in this area.

Authentically French in food and atmosphere. Uniquely accommodating to gluten and dairy free. This is a new family favorite dinner spot! Thanks very much to staff and chef for a great experience!

This is like a 4.5 for me. You should definitely save room for creme brulee! --- appetizer --- Escargot - little salty - needs to be served with more bread Pate - loved the chicken liver mousse in this dish - didn't love the actual pate --- entree --- Cassoulet - drier than expecting, was expecting some broth situation but this was really good and flavorful - had the same seasoning as the escargot Duck - crispy was the theme - potatoes were so crispy --- dessert --- Creme brulee - not too sweet, which I love - wish it had more berries Pot au chocolat - not too sweet, sweetness comes from the berries

We always have lovely, delectable meals at this cozy French bistro. We also love ordering from their take out menu. Try the beef and onion pie! Update 5/22/24 We had another stellar meal at Bergerac tonight. Their food fuels my soul.

My husband and I ate here on our 23rd anniversary. The food was amazing! The service was great. I ate things I had not had before (pate/duck confit) and was blown away. I normally need to add salt to food but this was seasoned perfectly, never even thought to ask for a salt shaker!? The creme brulee was the best I ever had. I highly recommend this place for a special or any occasion! We will be back.
